Our new local meeting site at the new community space of the Office of Thematic Initiatives and Community
Engagement of the University of Texas at Austin. It is a very easy site to find and is easily accessed from either North or South Austin via Interstate 35. See the map link and directions link below. There is ample parking in two parking lots - one at the front street level and another in the rear at the second floor level. The next meeting at this site will be our February Meeting. Watch for details.

This will be the Photo scanning meeting where you will have a chance to have your Chickasaw relatives placed in the Chickasaw Cultural Center photo collection
SO TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY YOU HAVE OVER THE THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY TO GET PHOTOS ORGANIZED. ASK OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS IF THEY HAVE ANY OLD FAMILY PHOTOS AND TOGETHER IDENTIFY THE PEOPLE IN THE PHOTOS AND THE LOCATION IF POSSIBLE.
PUT THE PHOTOS IN GROUPS OF FIVE PHOTOS AND WE WILL ASK THAT EVERYONE HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE THEIR FIVE HIGHEST PRIORITY PHOTOS SCANNED BEFORE THOSE WITH MORE THAN FIVE PHOTOS HAS A CHANCE TO HAVE THEIR SECOND FIVE PHOTOS SCANNED. THEN THE PROCESS WILL BE REPEATED UNTIL THE CHICKASAW NATION STAFF HAVE TO PACK UP THE SCANNERS. THEY ARE PLANNING TO TRY AND SCAN ALL THAT YOU BRING. HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE LIKE GENE AND HAVE 100s OF FAMILY PHOTOS, YOU MAY WANT TO PLAN ON SENDING SOME PHOTOS BACK TO ADA WITH THE SCANNING TEAMS AND THEY WILL SHIP THEM BACK TO YOU AFTER COMPLETING THE SCANNING OF YOUR PHOTOS.
We will also be showing some DVDs about the Chickasaw Nation for those who have completed their scanning or are waiting to scan photos. And as usual, we will have a potluck supper about 4:30 pm.
